26th May, 7am, and nothing was quite as normal at the circus.
The girls in the kitchen looked different…
So did the boys behind the bar…
As well as the usual culinary offerings, there were more colourful ones being prepared for ‘Odolan’ – the spritual birthday of Sea Circus.
There was an air of anticipation as the Circus crew awaited Pak Mangku – the priest of the Petitenget Temple – to arrive.
Once all the offerings were prepared all of the crew sat down and the ceremony began…
After a morning of ceremonies, spirits were high, and soon the attention turned to another birthday under the big top. That of one Joshua Herdman.
The Sea Circus staff took it upon themselves to play out the Bali birthday tradition, and so, Josh was egged, then covered in flour and coffee.
Nothing quite like getting your boss. Clearly.
